The Adelaide Oval Roof Climb is a genuine bucket-list experience — and it deserved content that matched. The challenge was capturing the scale, the drama and the once-in-a-lifetime nature of a night climb at the top of one of Australia’s most iconic stadiums, and translating that into a content library the venue could use across social, ticketing and partner channels.

How it came together.
The brief
The Adelaide Oval Roof Climb is a genuine bucket-list experience. Adelaide’s most iconic stadium, at night, from the top of the roof line. The problem is that an experience like this is almost impossible to describe in words, and most of the content around it until this point hadn’t captured the scale or the atmosphere the way it actually feels to be up there. The brief was straightforward but high stakes. Produce a cinematic content piece that captured the Roof Climb after dark, at the top of the stadium, in a way that made the ticket buy obvious. The shoot had to work around the physical realities of a night climb (limited light, limited crew, limited time on the roof), and the final cut had to land as a hero asset that Adelaide Oval could deploy across social, ticketing pages and partner collateral.
The strategy and execution
We ran two Roof Climb productions, each with its own focus. The first was a cinematic night shoot, capturing the scale of the climb and the lit-up Adelaide Oval precinct from the roof line itself. Filming at night on a working stadium roof required careful planning around safety, lighting and minimal-crew logistics, but it also meant the final footage looked genuinely unique. Nothing else on Adelaide Oval’s social channels looked like it. The second production was a daytime Students reel, targeting a different audience. Same location, different mood: school groups, younger climbers, and daytime footage showing the Oval bathed in the South Australian light. The two productions together gave Adelaide Oval a complete picture of what the Roof Climb experience offers, not just the once-in-a-lifetime night shoot that everyone sees on Instagram first. Both shoots delivered a hero landscape film plus supporting stills and Reels cut-downs, all ready to deploy across Adelaide Oval’s broader content engine.
